“Quarantine sucks. Yes, we have a lot of time on our hands but in the end, I think everyone just wants to go back to normal life.”

This was how RHS sophomore, Bailee King, feels about quarantine so far.

As teens, we have all kinds of emotions. This is also stimulated by our hormones trying to balance in our bodies

GnRH is the hormone going through teen’s bodies that can cause them to have mood swings. Essentially as teens, we have are hormones going crazy, while also dealing with learning how the world works.

NewportAcademy.com stated, “At the beginning of puberty, your brain releases a hormone called gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH). GnRH triggers the pituitary gland — a small but significant gland that controls the production of several major hormones.”

This quarantine could have a major effect on our lives and make us very confused. As teenagers, we have so many emotions, feelings, and thoughts going through our minds at once. With this big change in society, some of us are having a hard time adjusting to it. Some may feel “trapped” Being somewhat “trapped” in your house can make one very lonely.

“To be honest I have felt kind of trapped. It is stressful for me. I had it together . . . I went to school, got everything done, and I had a job. I’ve lost my daily schedule,” said Morgan Gregory.

Quarantine overall has been a big change for students across the world. But what can we do to help it? Everyone can help whether that be friends, parents, neighbors, or teachers. Little things like FacetTme, texting, and just keeping up with each other can help a ton.

To dig deeper into what we can do is just validate our emotions and realize that what we are feeling is real and that we aren’t the only ones. Seeking help and advice in others is okay. We don’t have to be alone in this time of crisis.

Confront your emotions and thoughts fully, make them known.

Some ways I cope with my emotion during this quarantine is journaling my thoughts and days, guided meditations which you can find on youtube, and you can always schedule facetime and zoom calls with your friends.

“I sometimes just try to relax, get everything done, and know that this is just temporary. My days will not run together forever,” stated King.

Quarantine is temporary, remember that as we go through all this craziness. You are you and you are amazing! Keep your head up.
