New years is a time to celebrate the beginning of a new year. We all know about the New York Ball Drop and how celebration starts soon after. This year the celebration wasn’t just happy fun times people made it into chaos. Some places are more chaotic than others.
To start off we have the king of crazy, Florida. Specifically Bayside Miami Florida where a huge fight started around 8:30 on the first. The cause is quite surprising, a random teen threw some kind of object at a man’s car. They started arguing and eventually a group of other teens came around a corner. To go more into depth we will look at a police report from NBC news,”Police then observed 10 to 15 juveniles actively assaulting a man in the area of Southeast 3rd Avenue and Southeast 2nd Street.” All of the juveniles fled the moment one of the police members turned on the siren of their cruiser.
Now to dart off to where the ball drop happens in NYC times square. Not even 2 hours after the new year started someone crashed into a restaurant injuring a police officer and 9 other civilians.
In a very common place of disaster Chicago it’s not that surprising to see a street get taken over. To name Franklyn Street by walker drive is where the “takeover” happened. Many people crowded around cars doing burnouts and donuts. As they started to flee the road when multiple police vehicles arrived one driver allegedly attempted to hit a police officer and drive off. Citizens who seen the event happen did not like it. As one of the people who witnessed a video said,”It is upsetting to hear about it in areas where it would be way too easy for a pedestrian to get hit,” resident Jeff Doane said.
In the area of Kenting , Taiwan a ‘FireCracker Frenzy’ happened.A young man had hundreds of US currency worth of random fireworks and firecrackers. He then placed all of them in the middle of a road and started lighting them. The reason this was dangerous was because cars were driving over the fireworks as they were going off. The man setting the fireworks off ran from the police and continued setting off fireworks.
