Many people use the popular streaming platform Netflix to watch movies and binge their favorite TV shows. According to Independent.co, Netflix is slowly removing many of the beloved movies along with TV shows despite protests from people who frequently use the platform.
Lately, Netflix has been downgrading, according to opinion from many common users. With its new household policy, and the constant cycle of removing media and replacing it with different media that happens to be at a lower demand, Netflix has been progressively losing the interest of its users.
Netflix used to have many satisfied customers, but now with their new household policy change, a lot of their customers are unhappy. Originally, a Netflix account was able to be shared between multiple people even if they didn’t live within the same household. But with the new policy change a Netflix account can only be shared by people who live together in one house. People who are not included in that will now need to sign up for their own account to watch Netflix, which costs Netflix a great deal of users, due to many people not wanting to pay for their very own account when they could’ve shared to save money.
A few of the TV shows and movies being removed are “V for Vendetta”, “She’s All That”, season two of “Ultraviolet”, and both “Paul Blart: Mall Cop” movies.
With Netflix constantly removing movies and shows that are widely enjoyed by the people who choose to use the platform, users have begun to draw away, and in most cases, turn their attention elsewhere, for example towards alternative platforms such as Disney+, Hulu, and HBO (Max).
At the end of the day, it’s always going to be left up to large companies such as Netflix to follow or ignore the demands of their users.
