There are tons of people globally who use TikTok on a daily basis, and if not then at least once or twice a week. Unfortunately they might just have to find a new source of entertainment. These past few weeks have been rather rough for the users of TikTok, due to the U.S. trying to ban the app.
According to whatsthebigdata.com, TikTok itself has drawn in over 1.7 billion users since it’s transformation from Musically in to what it is now.
U.S. authorities have been questioned heavily by the users of TikTok, and they keep responding with weak justifications for their unnecessary decisions, while claiming that TikTok is a Chinese owned company that mines data, and steals information from the Americans using the app.
Despite the owner of TikTok (ByteDance) NOT being of chinese origin, but portuguese instead, the U.S. authorities still insist that the app is an attempt to steal data off of users devices.
During the meeting between proper authorities and the owner of TikTok, the owner repeatedly corrected the person questioning him, who kept referring to him as Chinese, all while continuously implying that the owner is a part of the Chinese communist party, when there’s no evidence anywhere of this statement being anything but false.
The House of Representatives passed a bill on Wednesday to possibly ban TikTok from the U.S. for good, and it could be avoided if the owner sells the company to an American. This is due to the demands of the U.S. authorities, which stated that in order for the company to be available within the U.S. the “Chinese” owner needed to sell his business.
If the bill is able to be approved and signed by the U.S. president, then TikTok may be gone for good.
