The school year is flying by as we settle into the autumn season. Many students at Ross High School have gained their temps, joined new clubs, and… drama club is open.
At RHS in 2021, the Drama Club director had to stop leading due to health reasons, thus closing the club and ever since then, Drama Club has been closed, that is, until the beginning of RHS 2024 by the new Drama Director, Kelly Walker.
When asking RHS Sophomore and drama student Reese Roedersheimer to tell us about Mrs. Walker, she stated, “She’s really nice. She seems like she has a lot of energy and enthusiasm and will use all of her resources into the production.”
When asking RHS Sophomore Olivia Werling about her opinions, she stated, “Actually, I’ve known her for my whole entire life and I really love her.” Several students already have great impressions of the new director, and promising production is ahead.
Though many people aren’t into acting, there is far more to Drama Club than just acting. Roedersheimer explained, “I was surprised to find out that Drama didn’t just rely on acting, but also off-stage stuff such as makeup, hair, lighting, and prop making.”
When asking RHS Sophomore and drama club member Abby Roach, she stated, “I’m doing a smaller role ” and next to her side is Mia Mckinney who plans on doing, “costume design, set design, and sound.”
So with all of this explained, this now brings us to two questions. Will the drama club finally make its mark, continuing the legacy it had left? And will you consider taking part in it?
