On Nov, 18 it seemed like any other day. Hallways were filled with talks, doors opened and closed, but students noticed that all of the Ross high school staff were wearing black.
As students may have noticed, RHS staff members spent a whole week wearing, using, or holding specific clothes and items with particular themes. Even though this was kept a secret, many people quickly picked up the pattern and grew suspicious of the staff.
On the first day of the week, the staff members all wore black. RHS Sophomore Alexis Mienheartt stated, “It was creepy because they were all wearing black and wouldn’t say why.”
The next day on Nov 19, all the staff members wore crowns and tiaras to nod to royalty.
On Nov 20, the staff members would bring their wackiest water bottles. RHS spanish teacher Mrs. Meyer went out and got a pineapple. The next day on Nov, 21 everybody rocked on wearing their favorite holiday clothes.
So the question starts, why? When interviewing RHS math teacher Ms. Bryant, she explained, “There have been conversations between teachers, then maybe it was the emphasis from this organization called the Sunshine group.”
Bryant mentioned that the Sunshine group is “a group of teachers that does different things for social things” and when asked how long Teacher Week has been planned, Bryant stated, “I didn’t pay attention.. Maybe a month.”
With these answers solved, it leaves us with one large question. Will the RHS staff continue this for next year?
