The aroma of fresh scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, and fluffy pancakes fills the air at a small local restaurant. If these hot breakfast dishes make your mouth water, the Country Barrel is the place for you.

Known not only for their comforting breakfast foods, but also a variety of full-course dinners, this hometown eatery has something for everyone. Open Tuesday-Thursday and Sunday 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. according to countrybarrelreataurant.com, the Country Barrel is the hot spot for fresh home-cooked meals. “The Country Barrel is a welcoming environment with really good food. The breakfast dishes are my favorite,” said Foster.

Ms. Sondra Hertsenberg, owner of the Country Barrel since Oct. 1, 2018, shared details about the local business.

“The atmosphere at the Barrel is warm and inviting. Family, friends, and community gather for home cooked meals and good conversation,” said Hertsenberg.

Hertsenberg also praises the response received from the community.

“We love our customers. They always greet us with a smile when they walk through the door. Okeana is a wonderful community,” said Hertsenberg.
