Bengals Fan Of The Year

Bengals Fan Of The Year

Cincinnati Bengals fan of the year Phil Amrein wins “Bengals Fan Of The Year” being nominated by his wife Shelley, he hasn’t missed a game in years.

For some it may seem like watching a football game isn’t a big deal. But, for others it is extremely important to them. Just ask Bengals fan of the year, Phil Amrein, who is a die hard super fan. He has been a bengals super fan for over 30 years. Being supported by his wife every step of the way, never missing a game.

Amrein has not only traveled to every single away game and home game but also has tailgated 104 road games, while spreading the gospel. Phil has also hosted the, “Bengal Fest. Amrein stated, “It’s my pride and joy.” his whole life is football.

Amrein went to a game when he was a kid and ever since he has loved it. “My grandfather took me and I was hooked.”

He has been to so many games that he has made lifelong friends, traveling across the US to watch his favorite team meeting so many different people. Last year Amrein said “It was a dream come true” to follow the Bengals to the superbowl. This is how it all started, each year the 32 NFL teams take their vote based on who has the most commitment to the team. Then after that all the fans selected compete for the title NFL FAN OF THE YEAR.

But for Amrein this all came as a huge surprise. He had no idea his wife nominated him. He was chosen due to all the nice letters he and his wife send to the Bengals every year. And also not to forget all the games he goes to. “I love my team win or lose.” Amrein stated. This is why Amrein was chosen because he is not just a “warm weather” fan.

Amrein has the same outfit that he wears to every game, his bengal polo and “lucky tiger sneakers”, and his banner that he waves to promote his “Jungle Mobile”.

All in all Amrein has became lucky enough to pursue something he has always dreamed of, and if the Bengals make it as far to make it to the SuperBowl this year, he will receive a free trip to watch his life long favorite team.
