Many people struggle to keep healthy habits in life. Did you know having a cup of coffee can decrease your symptoms of depression? Well it’s true.

One important way to keep a healthy lifestyle is by exercising. The cdc.gov stated,”Being physically active can improve your brain health, help manage weight, reduce the risk of disease, strengthen bones and muscles, and improve your ability to do everyday activities.”

Exercising can be many different things such as walking, hiking, dancing, running, and even swimming.

Another way to stay motivated to have a healthy lifestyle is by getting good sleep at night. For example, getting at least 7 hours or more is crucial. Getting the recommended amount of sleep at night increases your brain performance, mood, and your health. If you are constantly lacking the amount of sleep you should get, then you are at higher risk of getting diseases and disorders such as heart disease, a stroke, obesity and dementia.

Drinking the right amount of water is another very important way to live a healthy lifestyle. On health.harvard.edu, Chief Medical Editor Howard E. Lewine explained that Men should drink about 15.5 cups a day while women should be drinking 11.5 cups.

The CDC explained that drinking water can prevent many things such as dehydration, mood change, constipation, and kidney stones.

Being social with the people around you is also a very important way to keep a healthy lifestyle. Susan Pinker, a psychologist stated,”Giving somebody a high-five is enough to release oxytocin, which increases your level of trust, and it lowers your cortisol levels, so it lowers your stress.”

In the New York Times, article author Jane E. Brody wrote,”People who are chronically lacking in social contacts are more likely to experience elevated levels of stress and inflammation.”

Another beneficial way to stay healthy is to cut down on your usage of screen time. Katherine Lee, an American novelist stated,”Less social media and gaming means kids can spend more time interacting with friends and family, going outside, getting some exercise, or reading a book.” This leaves you so much more time to expand your life and get to know and do new things.

If you are planning on getting healthier or improving your health. Try these things to enhance your road to being healthy.
