Homemade ornaments are both sentimental and important during the holidays. They are made all over the world in schools and at home. Schools get very festive around the holidays, especially around Christmas time.

Elementary schools spend the week before winter break making

decorations and going shopping at the school ‘Santa Shop’. Kids get to buy presents for their family or anyone they want. They pick out items they think their family will like and then they wrap them up and give them at Christmas.

In response to the question on “what homemade ornaments mean to her”, she states, “It’s a way to show how your family comes together and how they love each other.” Another question she replies to is “Who do you give your ornaments to” and she states, “My grandma, my mom, and my aunt because they were pictures of us together and because we weren’t around all the time and we didn’t get to see her so they could remember us when we weren’t there.” This shows that homemade ornaments mean a lot to people and to whom you give them.

Ornaments can be made in different ways and from different items. Little kids seem to find great joy in making presents for their family, especially when they make ornaments because they show their personality and how they feel. Kids like to give them to their parents most of all because it shows how much they appreciate them.

As many can see, ornaments and other presents can be a big deal for kids because they get to express themselves towards their family and friends. They can be important, sentimental, and emotional for the givers and receivers of the ornaments.
