Is Homework Beneficial to Students

Is Homework Beneficial to Students

Homework is something that take up a ton of students time. Many students have strong opinions on homework and if it is helpful or not. Teachers, on the other hand might have a different opinion on how helpful homework is to students.

Most, if not all students believe that homework is pointless and draining. When getting home after a long day at school the last thing a student wants to do is more school work.

Annabelle Dorflein, sophomore at Ross High School was asked if she thinks homework is beneficial, and Dorflein stated “No, it is not because it is just an add to students stress.”

According to University of San Diego, large amounts of homework can cause a ton of stress on students and affect their mental health.

Dorflein was asked if she thinks that homework helps students succeed she says “No, it is something teachers give when they don’t have enough time in class so they pour extra work on the students to get done on their own which is unfair.”

Most homework is online and some students don’t have access to internet at home so it could be very hard for them to get homework done.  Most students would not have a ton of homework if their teachers believed that it isn’t helpful.

Almost everyone knows how it feels to have piles of homework waiting for you when you get home, and it isn’t a good feeling.

Homework is something that is irrelevant to students and their mental health. Students should not have to do homework.
