The Olympics is a gathering of athletes to see who is the world’s best at what they do. The 32 initial sports are Archery, athletics, badminton, basketball , basketball 3×3, boxing, canoe slalom, canoe sprint, road cycling, cycling track, mountain bike, BMX freestyle, BMX racing, equestrian, fencing, football, golf, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, trampoline, handball, hockey, judo, modern pentathlon, rowing, rugby, sailing, shooting, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, triathlon, volleyball, beach volleyball, diving, marathon swimming, artistic swimming, swimming, water polo, weightlifting and wrestling. These are the main sports that people will be competing in.

Throughout history many different documents say that the games started 776 bce. The reason for the games being made are still unknown. The Olympiad is a word for the celebration of the Olympics every 4 years.

After that, a quick summary of the history of the Olympics. The 2024 Paris Olympics might be integrating new sports. There are new sports that are being proposed, they include skateboarding, surfing, and sport climbing.

There are some athletes from Ohio that are going to the Paris games. From NBC ,”Ohio State announced that sophomore Lena Hentschel and her partner Jette Muller qualified for Paris…” This line from NBC news explained that the 2 divers from Ohio are able to compete in the 2024 Olympics. 

The Olympics is a place where everyone gets along to watch the best of the best compete. The winner in each event gets a golden medal and a lot of bragging rights.
