Ross High School offers a wide variety of clubs, sports, and other after-school activities for students to indulge in. This variety ranges from Earth Club to Rambotics, to Swimming and Diving to Tennis. Why should students join or partake in after school activities and what effects being a part of a community can have on students?
In an interview with the adviser of the RHS student council, Heather Hudak, she was asked “Why should Ross students join Student Council or other after school activities” and she replied, “I have seen some people, who were very quiet, were very to themselves. But then when they got on Student Council, and they were like, well, yeah, I can help work with this, or I can do that. Or what do you think about this? Before you know it, they’re leading…”
Hudak also explained that, “Members of the Student Council went to the administration in regard to the student groups, doing the announcements in the morning, being involved to help the community with the blood drive. Being involved to help and have a say in how things are with the dances that we have.”
Student Council is one of the great after school activities offered at RHS that can not only be great on your resume but also help you strengthen your community or school.
